Brachioplasty

The arms or forearms as we call them in medicine start to loosen relatively early, usually from the age of 40 onwards because the skin slowly loses its elasticity.

Another reason our arms are loose is the great weight loss. In these cases the sagging also occurs at younger ages after losing the kilos.

Arm lift or brachioplasty is a surgical procedure that aims to improve the appearance of the arm area. To address the sagging of the arm and provide us with firmer and shapelier arms.

This procedure uses various techniques that aim to remove excess skin and fat.

The incision can be made along the arm on the inner side so that it can be hidden, in cases where there is great skin laxity, or liposuction can be done first with a small incision near the armpit and pulling the skin if necessary again through an incision near the armpit (arm lift).

The procedure is usually done under general anesthesia and takes about two hours depending on the degree of relaxation we have.

Post operation, the patient should wear some kind of compression to ensure a smooth recovery.

The return to work does not require more than one week to ten days depending on the patient.

Brachioplasty is an operation that provides a solution to a problem that is of great concern to women, because the loosening of the arms very often obliges women to avoid short sleeves and affects their lives especially during the summer period.
